Ladies scarves

Scarves make great additions to any outfit, whatever the weather, as many of our favourite fashion icons have been showing us for years. Ladies scarves have a permanent place in fashion magazines and on the catwalks thanks to their versatility and wearability.

Add an edge to a simple jeans and T-shirt outfit, Drew Barrymore style, with a simple, skinny ladies scarf or keep your hair in place with a chiffon scarf as seen on Audrey Hepburn circa 1961. In fact, a vintage scarf can be the perfect way to pay homage to your fashion icons of old without going for a full-on retro look.

In autumn, a classic pashmina can set an outfit apart from the rest and update your look from day to evening. In winter months you can add a touch of luxury to an outfit with a fur scarf (faux, of course) or a cosy cashmere scarf and in summer a silk scarf or a chiffon scarf can add textural interest or a splash of colour to an otherwise simple outfit. Whatever the season, a simple scarf can be used as a head-band, waist belt or a neck scarf to jazz up any ensemble.

If you usually dress in neutral tones a red or pink scarf will bring warmth and vibrancy without dominating your colouring or overwhelming the natural colours you prefer. However, not to be underestimated are neautral and natural tones for a chic and sophisticated look.
