6 Boot Trends We Can't Wait to Wear This Season

by Adam Fletcher

If you’re anything like us, you probably spent 90% of your summer days stomping around in biker boots, cycling shorts and a bandeau top, when you weren’t wearing sandals (obvs). However, there’s nothing like sliding into fresh pair of boots, and teaming them with a check-print dress or a long-sleeve midi, to signal the start of the new season. Ready to hit reBOOT? Walk this way…

Our fashion team are here to help you get off on the right foot (lol) this autumn: they’ve put together the six boots trends you need to know about now and for the months to come. From the ‘sock boot’ that’s getting allllll the likes on Insta to the updated chunky boot (expect your everyday looks to be elevated), here are the top boots for autumn that we can’t wait to start wearing.

1.Biker Boots

The biker boot we all know and love is back but, this autumn, it’s been given an inner-ankle zip, more eyelets and a stacked platform sole. Not feeling bold enough to go *that* high? We hear you. Try a pair with a lower sole and 6 eyelets. The things that aren’t optional? Adding a puff-sleeve dress, micro sunglasses and super-cute socks. 😉

2. Sock Boots

When Cardi B first mentioned “boots that look like socks” in her song ‘I Like It Like That’, we just knew that sock boots would be BIG fashion news for soooo many seasons to come. If you haven’t tried the trend already, don’t worry: we’ve put some top tips together for you. Tip 1: Pick a black, calf-grazing pair. Tip 2: Opt for a pointed-toe design. Tip 3: Add flared jeans and monochrome spot prints.

3. Western Boots

With summer almost gone, it’s time to add something new to your wardrobe. We’re thinking about saying “howdy” to western boots, a tiered skirt, oversized sunglasses and a micro bag. The next thing you probably want to know is: how are they different to 2019’s western boots? Well, with a square-toe design, a block heel and a black colourway, you might think that you’ve already seen ones like this before but, thanks to the contrast stitching and embroidery, they look and feel all new again.

4. Slip On Boots

Some people are calling them ‘track soles’ or ‘slip-on boots’, but we’re referring to them as ‘chunky boots’. How to wear them? We say: style them like you would any pair of trainers. Basically, they’ll look good with EVERY dress you already own or, if denim is more your thing, try a straight-leg jean (a fit that’s slightly cropped works best), a tee and a blazer. Job. Done.

5. Knee High Boots

It’s true: mini skirts and other thigh-grazing pieces can also work for September (or for any day to come, really). The trick? It’s all about the choosing the right knee-high boots – and a black version like this has everything you need: a low, flat heel, a leather-look texture and limitless versatility (you can wear them with almost any colour on top). Make like this street-styler and go matchy-matchy with your check prints. 😍

6. Embellished Boots

Dress it up with a long-sleeve midi or keep it casual with a pair of ripped skinny jeans. Embellished boots are the style to see you through every moment of the day, effortlessly. Featuring shiny studs, buckles, exposed toe caps and more, they the boots that do all the hard work for you. Really, the only thing you need to think about it what to wear with them, but we’ve helped you with that already. 😆 You’re welcome.
