6 Holiday Outfits We’re Dreaming of Wearing

by Adam Fletcher

If you’re anything like us, you’ll probably agree that “long” is the best way to describe the last 118 days. Especially as that’s the amount of time that most of us have gone without a getaway. Well, ICYDK, there’s hope in sight: we’re allegedly allowed to go abroad again – so yep, it’s looking like that girls’ trip might happen after all. *Fingers crossed* So, no matter whether you’re thinking of securing a trip to Spain or somewhere local, we’ve got holiday outfit ideas for all your summer moves. 💅

Handpicked by our trusty New Look fashion team, here are 6 looks that have all your vacay or staycay eventualities covered – and they just so happen to be sizzling hot (pun planned), too. Take a peep and find out what to wear on holiday RN. Soak it all up…

1. Denim for Road Tripping

We all know that every holiday needs a good ol’ road trip. Like, did you even go away if you didn’t take multiple selfies with your bestie in the back seat of that rental car? Possibly not. It’s a good thing, then, that we’ve prepped this road trip-ready look that’s both comfy (you could be spending a few hours travelling) and cute (you’ll be arriving at your destination at some point). Think skinny jeans as the base to your outfit – you can always count on them to make you look & feel good – and then add a daisy-embroidered bralette, buckled sandals and a monochrome straw bag, because, why not?

2. The Ultimate Cover-Up

This is exactly the type of playsuit that we want to wear for post-work proseccos, as soon as post-work proseccos become possible. However, until then, it’s definitely coming on every holiday with us because it doubles as the ultimate beach cover-up. It’s long enough to hide your swimwear, but its lightweight fabric means that it can be stored in your stripe-print bag as soon as the temps rise and you head to the beach. The way to style it? With a wide floppy hat and leather-look sliders (both in black).

3. For Strolling Around on a City Break

Remember that tune ‘I’m Walking On Sunshine’? Sure you do. Well, put that track on pause, cos prepping your look for that sunny holiday walk isn’t a song and dance – it’s sort of tricky. Not only is a stroll an ideal way to get to know your new surroundings, but it’s also an opportunity to look super-cute while you do it, naturally. So, in our eyes, a denim-short-and-nice-top combo like this one is an obvious choice and, as for the accessories – white espadrille and a python-effect bag to match

4. Getting Glam for Dinner

Think maximum impact & little getting-dressed time. What we mean is the type of look that takes -3 minutes to throw on and promises x30 compliments. When dressing up for dinner, we’ve picked a midi dress with a must-have animal print, & all-black shoes and accessories to finish (dw, thanks to their tassels, straps & gold-tone details they are far from being boring). Holiday evening outfit ideas, sorted.

5. For Chilling at the Pool or Beach Bar

If you’re looking for motivation to head to the pool, look no further than the hottest swimwear under the sun: a floral-print bikini and bottoms. Yup, it’s fair to say that florals are one of summer’s must-see patterns and, fortunately for us, it’s being printed all over our matching set. But, want to know what makes it pop even more (apart from its coconut-effect buckle details)? If you add a headband and a statement pair of sunglasses. Fact.

6. For Exploring & Shopping at the Local Markets

We all know that holidays involve ’grammable moments, like going on all-day trips, taking latte breaks in cute independent cafés & sampling food at the local markets that you’ve perhaps not tried before. So, what you’ll need for those moments is a classic white tee (the frill-trim details give your outfit that something ‘extra’ 💖) and a pair of tie-waist shorts. To finish, look to natural accessories: rope-detail sandals and a woven-effect bag. Straw is fashion law.
