As our evenings turn to sitting at home, enjoying the Christmas decorations with a mulled wine or hot chocolate in hand whilst getting prepared for the big day and wrapping a bundle of presents, it’s safe to say you need some background noise.

And if by now you’re almost at the end of watching everything in our November Netflix round up, then you’re probably anticipating what’s to come this December. So, as usual, we’ve done our round up of the things we can’t wait to watch on Netflix this December.

1. Alien Worlds, 2nd December

It may not be the most festive start to our December round up, but if you’re a nature and sci-fi lover, then Alien Worlds is a must-watch for you.

It’s a David Attenborough-esque docu-series that focuses on applying the laws of life on earth to the rest of the galaxy, blending both science facts and fiction to imagine alien life on other planets.

2. Ava, 7th December

If you’re looking to have a film night this December and want something that’s really going to grip you, then Ava is the film you need to stream this December.

This action, crime drama follows Ava, a deadly assassin, who travels the globe making high profile hits. But when a job goes wrong, she is forced to fight for her own survival.

3. The Prom, 11th December

With a major all-star cast, The Prom is sure to be the film you don’t want to miss this December. Starring the likes of Meryl Streep, James Cordon and Nicole Kidman, it’s set to be the film that lightens your mood and gives you an almighty sing song.

And whilst many have missed out on their all-important proms this year, this film gives you a reason to celebrate. After all, everyone deserves to go to prom.

4. Tiny Pretty Things, 14th December

Dance, drama, and death.

That’s pretty much all you need to know and exactly what this highly anticipated new Netflix series has to offer. Described as a cross between Pretty Little Liars and Black Swan, this series sure sounds like something that’s right up our street and we can’t wait to get binge-watching this December.

5. Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, 20th December

Based in 1927, tensions and temperatures begin to rise at a Chicago music studio between fiery and fearless blues singer Ma Rainey, her ambitious horn player and the white management determined to put her in place. It is a must-see film adaptation, and it features the iconic final performance from the late Chadwick Boseman.

6. The Midnight Sky, 23rd December

As soon as we mention that this one stars George Clooney you know you need to add it straight to the top of your watch-list.

This sci-fi drama follows the story of the aftermath of a global catastrophe. Leaving a lone scientist in the Arctic racing to contact a crew of astronauts with a warning for them not to return to earth.

7. Bridgerton, 25th December

If your ideal Christmas day is spent watching things on Netflix and eating all the pigs-in-blankets and chocolate that you want, then you’re in luck as there’s a new series for you to binge on the day.

Based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels, the series follows the journey of 8 close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family as they look for love and happiness in London’s high society.

8. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - Part 4, 31st December

Not got any plans this New Year? Nope, us neither. The good news is that the highly anticipated season 4 of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is finally here, so you’ve got that to binge watch into the new year. Quite frankly, we couldn’t think of a better way to spend it.
