The 9 Styles Keeping Us Cosy This Winter

By Emma Menteath, Content Lead

Without doubt, winter has finally come knocking, and to be frank, we’re actually pretty thrilled about it. The days may be shorter, and it may be a little more difficult to climb out of bed in the mornings but we’re pretty excited about being wrapped up in duvet-like coats and chunky boots while we grab our morning coffee before work.

Just because it’s cold and frosty, doesn’t mean you have to layer up in boring fleecy garments or thermals each time you leave the house. Instead, we’ve rounded up 9 items we believe are essential this season (yes, of course we’ve included a trusty pair of joggers) to ensure you stay wrapped up and warm this winter. Drum roll please…

1. A Faux Fur Coat

One of the key items to staying warm this winter is a faux fur coat. Stylish, chic and, to be honest, very Sex and the City. We can totally envision Carrie Bradshaw wearing this mink coat with a pair of knee-high boots and an eccentric printed dress.

2. An Oversized Sweatshirt

Is it just us, or has anyone else found themselves stealing their boyfriends’ sweatshirts during these last couple of months? We definitely have a newfound love for anything oversized, bonus style points when worn with matching bottoms and chunky boots. Just layer up with a puffer and you’re all set for those long winter walks.

4. Chunky Boots

It’s a good thing winter’s leading boot trend lends itself to long walks outdoors thanks to their chunky soles and easy-to-wipe-clean nature. We definitely see ourselves investing in a pair of these this winter. Come summer, you’ll see us styling ours with cute picnic dresses and newfound freedom (fingers crossed).

When it comes to layering, every girl needs a roll-neck jumper in their winter wardrobe. We recommend stocking up in a few colour ways to ensure you stay snug all winter long. Keep it simple and style with denim and boots or layer over your favourite midi for a relaxed stay-at-home look.

7. An Extra Long Puffer Coat

Because who doesn’t want to step outside wrapped up in what could essentially be your bedroom duvet? A  coat so comfortable and huggable it’ll make all yourother outerwear jelly. Plus, we’re totally behind a duvet coat that covers us from head-to-toe, hiding our just-got-out-of-bed kind of outfits.

8. A Sweatshirt Dress

Because everyone needs that throw-on-and-go kind of outfit even if we don’t have anywhere to go at the moment besides our living room. And if you do have plans to go out, then just warm up with tights and pair of lace-up boots for a cold weather look.

9. A Pair of Joggers

Do we even need to justify why a pair of joggers have made our winter wrap up list 😜?  If there’s one item every single one of us have spent the last couple of months wearing, it’s a pair of joggers. Whether you’re getting dressed for yourself as you sit down to  WFH for you’ve styled your joggers with a cute  bodysuit for those  girls’ nights in with your housemates, a pair of versatile joggers are very much a winter must-have for 2020.
