3 Ways to Wear the Midi Dress

Emma Menteath, Editorial Lead

Midi dresses have taken over our wardrobes for the last few months and they’re showing no signs of going out of fashion. Long sleeve midis in animal prints like leopard or snake are on our fashion radar – and making us wish for cold weather to get here fast. But there’s no hurry, in the meantime, there are new ways you can wear your favourite summer midi. Here are three ideas for layering up your strappy slip dress – did we mention we love this polka dot style in particular? It comes in a shade of sunset orange that's giving our wardrobes life.

1. Daytime Layering with a Slogan T-Shirt

Looking for a no-brainer styling trick to update your midi dress? We have the solution thanks to the humble T-shirt, which can be worn under your favourite summer dress. Be bold in your choice of tee and say it with a slogan. Finish the look with a pair of on-the-go trainers for total comfort, a crossbody handbag (look, mum, no hands) and a forever classic: the leather-look biker jacket.

2. Cosy Up in a Longline Jumper

Make the most of the summer wardrobe you’ve already invested in and layer up with one of autumn’s must-haves, the longline jumper – note to self: extra length equals extra warmth. Wear it with a pair of lace-up hiking boots, a tote bag to carry all your essentials and let’s not forget those tortoise shell hair clips that we’ve seen all over insta these past few months. Come rain or shine, this look has you covered.

3. Dressed Up for Date Night

Looking for a luxe finish to go out on a date? We have a thing for longline faux fur coats at the moment, they’re an instant way to elevate your look. Add a pair of pointed ankle boots, the only boots you’ll need this autumn and finish off with a fashion accessory like the boxy croc shoulder bag – it’s vegan, of course – we love its vintage-inspired look.
