ICYMI, there’s a brand-new duo on the fashion scene. Together, they’re the power couple set to completely take over our cool-weather wardrobes: jeans and jumpers.
Don’t get us wrong, we still 100% love pairing our jeans with *really* nice tops, but the temperature drop is the perfect excuse to start teaming your favourite denim fits with fluffy and extra-woolly styles, too. Where to begin? Well, we’re getting inspired by some our favourite celebrities.
So, without further ado, here are 17 ways to wear jumpers and jeans this season. Take notes…
Love that borrowed-from-the-boys feel? Well, this is your jumper. Balance out the oversized fit and wide stripes with a pair of ankle-grazing skinny jeans and cute flats.
Want to master that effortless French-girl style of dressing? A classic jumper-and-jeans combo with a black oversized blazer and textured boots might just be the best place to start.
Cable-knit jumpers are super-cute and everything, especially when they come in neutral shades, but there’s nothing like adding leather-look leggings and ankle boots to toughen them up a little. Fact.
Slightly longer to give a more relaxed fit, this beige roll-neck knit is perfect for tucking into mid-rise jeans for a weekend-ready look. Keep things comfy from head to toe and slip into suede-look boots.
The good old navy roll-neck jumper is back and, this time around, we’ll be wearing ours tucked into mom jeans to give it a fresh spin. When it comes to accessorising this look, burgundy pieces will do nicely.
Relaxed and comfortable looks are essential this season, and this outfit is a lesson in how to make a fancy knit look appropriate for low-key hang-outs with the girls. Just add high-waisted baggy jeans in charcoal, low-heel boots and hoops.
White crewneck knits are one of the most versatile jumpers out there. How to style them? Wear them like you would a classic white tee: you can totally tuck them into black jeans and throw a leather-look jacket over the top. This is the off-duty look you need RN.
When classic navy or tan knitted jumpers won’t do, count on a bright green jumper with high-waisted jeans, a trench coat and pointed boots for a winning look.
Familiar with knitted jumpers that can’t be tucked in? Well, that’s where a pair of high-waisted jeans turn out to be (even more) useful. Don’t forget to add a statement buckled belt and white trainers.
Weekend walks work well with a cosy light pink knit, skinny jeans and wellies. Your autumn must-have accessory that puts the finishing touch on every look? A leopard-print scarf.
It’s true: our shirts aren’t getting too much wear these days. But, we have to say, we want to start wearing them all over again. This nice-knit-and-skinny-jeans look must be one of the reasons why.
Lay it on thin. On those (occasionally) sunny days in autumn, a light knit can be worn without a heavy top layer. Our tip: choose thicker denim and carry a hot latte.
Autumn calling... Team your white crop top, high-waist jeans and sunglasses with an oversized cardigan for a look that says: “I’m officially ready to move into cooler days.”
