Which Iconic Character Are You Channelling with Your NYE look?

We know, we know, Christmas hasn’t even been and gone yet. But before you realise, the presents will be unwrapped, the turkey will have been eaten and you’ll be wishing you planned your New Year’s Eve look sooner.

Not everyone likes to go out and dress up on December 31st, so we thought we’d take inspo from some of our favourite characters, spanning nightie-clad Carrie Bradshaw on a last-minute dash to Miranda’s and Emily Cooper channelling Audrey Hepburn for a date to Swan Lake.

So whether you’re ringing in January with a bang or staying home with your best mates Ben and Jerry (Bridget Jones fans will know), these TV and film icons have your outfit covered.

1. Maddy Perez - Euphoria

Going out-out ? Who better to take your style cues from than party girl Maddy and her on-trend noughties aesthetic. Don’t even think about skipping her signature winged liner and hoop earrings .

2. Carrie Bradshaw - Sex and The City

If you’re keeping it low-key, say drinks and Domino’s in your friend’s front room, Carrie’s cosy nightwear look is just the ticket. Like the fashion queen, give a nod to the celebrations with a glitzy accessory – think a pair of sparkly earrings .

3. Emily Cooper - Emily in Paris

Whether you’re getting whisked away on a romantic date or headed to a fancy black-tie soirée, borrow from Emily and have your main character moment in a statement LBD and twinkling accessories. Finish with a classic red lip for a pop of colour.

4. Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason

Despite what social media might tell you, spending New Year’s Eve solely with your favourite TV characters and a tub of ice cream is perfectly acceptable. What’s not acceptable is forgoing treating yourself to cute PJs for the occasion – oh, and maybe some fluffy slippers and a dressing gown too!
